"MIGRAINE AND OTHER HEADACHES" by William B. Young, M.D. and Stephen D Silberstein, M.D.
“"Biofeedback is the most successfully studied behavioral approach in migraine management. Younger headache sufferers
and children show many positive results from using this technique. The technique is so well established as a preventive for
migraine that some consider it to be a conventional treatment option."”
MAYO CLINIC: "Biofeedback has been shown to be helpful in treating about 150 medical conditions, including: Asthma,
Raynaud's disease, Irritable bowel syndrome, High blood pressure and headaches."
NATIONAL HEADACHE FOUNDATION: "Biofeedback has proven successful in reducing both the frequency and severity of tension-type
and migraine headaches."
AMERICAN ACADEMY OF NEUROLOGY:"Research has shown that some cognitive and behavioral treatments can help prevent migraine,
including: Thermal biofeedback with relaxation training (and) electromyographic (EMG) biofeedback..."
Biofeedback is an interactive process helping you to see how your body responds to stress. It uses safe, painless, computerized
equipment to display the muscle tension level both visually and audibly.
Your training will include practicing the breathing and muscle relaxation techniques you learn during biofeedback sessions
while you are at home and at work.
